Needle flame test for flame-retardant components
A standardized needle flame generator (0.5 mm nozzle, ≥35 mm length) fueled by high-purity butane (≥95%) is applied to the sample for a specified duration. During and after ignition, observers record the ignition behavior, flame spread, dripping, and whether the droplets impact the underlying fabric. The test evaluates fire resistance under failure conditions.
